It’s a timer! It’s a tomato! It’s telling you to take a break!
We all have those days where we are popping in and out of zoom meetings, adjusting to a shifted time zone, and tackling a long checklist. For time management and sanity, using a tomato timer is a really helpful way to dissect your work blocks and study sessions. Essentially breaking your work time into smaller intervals with assigned tasks for each helps your brain focus on one activity at a time therefore making yourself more efficient and productive. More importantly, scheduled breaks allow your brain to rest. Our recommendation is pomo timer but there are many apps and extensions with a similar setup — an interval timer. Rather than having your 10 hours drag into one long and slow workday, segmenting and organizing your time helps you work harder and smarter and take breaks when needed.

Sometimes one all-nighter helps us catch up, but oftentimes the work piles up and we feel like we are constantly tired and sleepy. Tracking your sleep and making sure you are getting enough is helpful in maintaining mental clarity. One sleepless night won’t hurt you, but reduced sleep over a long period of time is not good. The latest craze for multiplayer gaming these days is Among us! Essentially a mafia game on a spaceship where crewmates try to complete tasks while an imposter attempts to kill off the innocent crewmates. Working hard is important, but sometimes you need some time to play games and relax. You don’t have to play Among us!Any game you enjoy is a great way to take a break. Let your mind breathe and balance out the grind with some fun play.
